I've been a player for about seven years now. Just your average scenario and woods player. But most of my old friends I use to play with quit playing pb because of college and so on... One of them had the land that we played on and so I cant play there anymore. My back yard is pretty big, well big enough for a good sized speedball field. Getting materials and net yada yada is fine. The problem is the legal part. I own the land yes..my neighbors both either died or moved so one house is being rented out, the other trying to be sold. It's not like they're right beside the field, its just thier back yard matched up with the exception of a few thin trees. I figure putting up net would solve the problem but i'm having doubts. Who do I go to for permission? I know not the neighbors..it's someone else, I dont know, state maybe. Do I need a license? This is not a commercial field, just a field for me and a few friends. A non-profit field. So any ideas for me to stay out of trouble?

You have to have at least 300 feet of space between the field and any occuiped buildings in most places in the US. Check your local ordinaces.

Well, if it's not going to be very loud or attractive, you could just tell the neighbors what you're doing and just let it be. If you really do want to get the law involved, check your local/state laws and see what's permitted.
