I just bought a used 98c. I had a 98 back in the day and I was inspecting this gun and found something I do not remember. On the right side of the gun (the same side as the loader) above the safety and above and to the left of the nut that holds the gun together there is a little thing that looks like plastic stub sticking out. I will be taking the gun apart for a ggod cleaning and to install the verticle drop down. I printed out the new manual but it doesn't look like there is anythig there. can anyone help |

That's just part of the power tube. You just have to make sure that when you put it back together that the part that sticks out is in the hole. |

I'm sure you could, but it wouldn't help much. I'd just leave it.

It's the nipple for blowback gas. One of the differences between the 98 and 98C is the powertube that has the tap for gas to run the RT and/or Cyclone.
It can be drilled out and tapped, or replaced with a powertube that is already threaded to accept the banjo fitting that you attach a hose to to run gas to the RT No you can't shove it in so it doesn't stick out. |

I did take the gun apart and cleaned it real good, installed a palmer stab, double trigger, and a lapco bigshot. I will probably get a R/T next. thanx for the help.
