what exactly does the external setting screw do for the r/t? cuz im trying to get my gun as good as i can (i just got my gun so i donno what settings r best)

I'm assuming you mean you're talking about the screw on the right side of the marker where the r/t was installed. Just turn it in 1/4 in turns until you get it where you want it. If you screw it in it makes the trigger harder to pull and if you screw it out it makes it lighter to pull.
