So I just got myself a new Big Shot 14" and I am very reluctant to think that it is really this inaccurate (worse than stock barrel) and breaks these many balls (1 in 20) So I am wondering why I am breaking soo many balls. What are reasons for ball breakeage either than low quality paint, because I have used both with only slightly better effect with the better paint. My gun is a new Custom Pro. There are no chips in my sear, and I shoot only about 1-2 bps (I play woodsball)

Try to narrow down the culprit. Try shooting with the stock barrel and your new Bigshot and make sure that it is the barrel that is causing it. Make sure that the barrel threads into the gun fully, and straight. If you can't find any defect in the barrel, then it must be the paint.
What brand of paint are you using? Typically, with the Bigshot being a medium sized bore, it is not usually a picky barrel when it comes to paint, but you may have some brand that is very large, im comparison to most. Also, is the paint fresh? You didn't let it sit in a agarage or shed where the paint froze or just got old or brittle, did you? |

Well I have played at two places this past weekend after getting my new barrel and I havent yet tried the stock barrel again, both of these places are strictly against outside paint and so I have never really had a reason to buy my own paint since they are the only places I play. One used quite good quality paint and the other place I go much more often (today), seems to use a varitey of paint and I don't know what brands they use, but today I was absolutley disgusted when they handed me my bag of paint, the balls had a transparent shell and you could clearly see how the paint had solidly settled(and they wont let you use your own paint
). So I am pretty sure that, that would be a major cause, the only reason I wonder if that is the only reason for this is beacuse I experienced alot of breakage with the good quality balls at the other place. I am going to buy some very high end paint and try interchaning barrels(I use HPA). Is there anything that could be neither barrel nor paint? |

Well, other than the barrel or the paint you could check the velocity. I kinda doubt that's it because you have to chrono. Are the balls breaking in the barrel or are you chopping them? If you are chopping then check the ball stop and make sure you aren't outshooting your hopper. I know this is redundent, but check to make sure the barrel doesn't have anything in it(ie. dirt, paint, etc.), make sure it's threaded right into the marker and not crooked, the quality paint could have something to do with it. Check the paint to see if it is too soft, dimpled, wet ( other than the oily residue). Also you might try different bore sizes of paint. Medium (.68) should work fine. If not try some a little smaller, just as a test.

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.
