I just bought a brand new a5 a few weeks ago and lent it to a friend. He said he couldn't get it to shoot, and gave it back to me. I am running Compressed Air (not Co2) and when I hook up the air source, I can fire one shot, but it wont recock the bolt. If I recock it manually, it will fire again, but not recock. Is there something I am missing? Do I HAVE to run CO2? Is there any way I can restart from scratch?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as Im trying to get back on the field by Friday night!!
Thanks!! Edited by nfmmalice - 08 March 2006 at 2:49pm |

Welcome to the forum. My first guess would be the tank. Is it a low output pressure tank? You need 800ish psi to run your Tippmann. Or, of course, your tank might be almost empty. Try a different air tank, or a CO2 tank, and make sure the tank is full, then try again. If that doesn't help, it may be a leak or a drive spring issue... but check the tank first. |

I highly doubt it's a drive spring issue.

My guess would be that it is a tank issue. Make sure you have a full tank and that it is a high pressure output tank like Clark said.

I get this problem when I am almost out of air. Maybe take apart the gun and give it some TLC....has helped me in the past with problems.

OKay... I'm Running with a FULL 68ci, 4500psi, 800psi out compressed tank, and it's still doing the same thing... I would consider taking it apart and giving it some TLC.. BUt I have no clue where to start.. and it's a new gun... I've never even had it out on the field.. =\
I can't try CO2, because, imagine that, I dont OWN a CO2 tank.. hehe I have 3 AutoCOckers (Karnivor, Nightcast, and Dye Ultralight Eblade) an Angel LCD, and an ION.. so all the tanks I own are Compressed Air... I bought the A5 for Scenario Play, and it looks like I'll STILL be using my Karnivorr... I guess I'll have to try and send it back to Tippmann and see what they say... I was REALLY hoping to play with it tomorrow though.. Oh well...
thanks for all the advice.
