I found a great deal online for a refurbished 98 with e grip

and I was wondering...can you really rely on a refurbished gun?

Yeah, should be fine. But just for the record you might want to e-mail them and ask what was originally wrong with it. You know, just in case.

He could be referring to a custom pro, which does have an EGrip and it technically is a 98.

Yeah, refurbished guns can be trusted. Usually just paint defects or a flaw in the body. Nothing serious.
