ok I'm thinking about purchasing a new gun, and i've come down to these two choices.
r/t pro automag-base model ION with ndz roller trigger, Q lock feedneck, and cp on off with rail. tippmann 98c pro e-ape board-12 lapco snapshot barrell-palmers stabilizer I play about 70-80 percent woods...20-30 percent speed. Edited by --Red-- - 21 March 2006 at 9:48pm |

R/T pro hands down forget the ion all together, if you play more woods the automag is the way to go no doubt about it, all you have to do is make sure you have a big tank for the automag as it is a gashog but other than that you should be fine, can you take the ion and throw it in the water pick it up and shoot no i didn't think so. Also one of my friends with an ion slid into some mud and totally screwed up his gun all together ended up bein like a 70 dollar repair. I'd say automag all the way, i love mine to death |

Automag, they are extremely reliable and simple guns. They perform great and have plenty of upgrades available for them. But thats my personal preference.

yeah you don't really need any upgrades, the R/T pro comes with a lot already on it. But there are more upgrades you could get for it that don't come stock. The R/T performs great right out of the box and really doesn't need anything added to it, but there are options available if you decided you wanted to change it around and add some new stuff.

I would personally take the Automag over the Ion.
It looks better, is simpler to maintain (like a Tippmann almost), and how many guns can you clean with a garden hose? Not too many... |

The Automag is a very simple gun. Very easy to learn maintain and fix, basically because the mag consists of only a few parts. It's extremely durable, alomost as durable as a tippmann. Plenty of upgrades available. You can keep it mechanicle or upgrade it to electronic.
Price: Ion wins the price contest. A stock Ion is cheaper then the R/T mag. Durability: Mag is definetely more durable then the Ion. Firing rate: This goes to the Ion, but an electro mag can easily keep up with an Ion. Aftermarket parts: This goes to the mag. The mag has been around forever and has plenty of different upgrades for it. The ion has very few aftermarket upgrades. Customer service: This I would also have to give to AGD. I feel like smart parts could care less about their customers. If you are looking for a mag with more of a speedball feel and look to it I would suggest checking these mags out. www.themagsmith.com |

Also if you want to upgrade to an electro later on you have a couple different options such Spydermag, Hyperframe, logic ultimate frame(maybe discontiued), and emag lowers all are very nice and and keep up with the best of them.

For trigger, just get the Intelliframe.
