i have an A5. i don't want a scope. i want a Red Dot. i've been checking out the SpecOps website and others. Just brousing. Unsure of what/where is the best/most durable(wont be destroyed by a paintball) red dot option for my marker. what exactly do i need to put a red dot on my A5? do i need a rail? someone point me in the right direction.

I use and recommend an Adco Sure shot. Adco is the only company that has a paintball guarantee - if your sight is damaged in any way during a game, return it to them & they will send you a new one no questions asked! Adco sights can be found here: http://www.adcosales.com/paintball.html They will all mount directly to the existing rail on top of the A-5. Depending on if you use a stock (and which one you have) and/or use the stock hopper (I use a Tac-cap so it's not in the way) you may need to either raise or offset the red-dot so you can use it easily with a mask on. You can find all types of rails here: http://www.bp-usa.com/accessories.htm I would suggest ordering the sight first & mounting it on your marker. That will give you a much better idea as to whether you will need any type of accessory rail. Out of the box with no accessories, the center of the Sure Shot's rear apperature sits 1" above the highest point of the existing A-5 rear sight and 1 13/16" above the top of the mounting rail. |

thanks man.. i looked into that Adco Shure Shot but don't like the fact that i have to look through a scope to see the red dot. I want something that i don't need to look through anything. I just want to see the red dot on my target wherever i point my marker. does this exist? of so, any recomendations for my A5? Edited by WanksterFlanker - 10 May 2006 at 9:18am |

The red dot sight can be sighted through with both eyes open , there is no parallax because there is no magnification ....It takes some practice to do this effectively , but you dont want to be running around a paintball field with only one eye open anyway do Ya ? Also , you can sight through it with the front lens cap on if you are concerned about damage to the front lense , if you dont believe me , go to walmart and ask to take one out of its packaging before you buy it . the red dot sight is a passive sight that emits no energy in the form of light or other radiations (Like a laser) , so most fields willl allow it , or at least the ones I've played at in Phoenix . |

fields should allow lasers. to blind someone you would have to hold them down for like 10-15 minutes while you shine a laser in their eye. any if you want to blind them from that range why not shoot them in the eye?

Thats not a red dot, thats a lazer, and should never be used. They can permanatly damage or blind the person your pointing it at. |
