Just bought my A-5 went the extra bit and got the stealth package. I'm having a problem though. when I adjust the FPS from almost closed to all the way open I can't get higher than 220 avg. I can spike at like 250 and of course nearly close it. It seems that the pressure coming from my tank isn't allowing my gun to shoot more than 220. I was wondering is the a common problem among A-5's or is it maybe the air system I'm using (3000 psi air system). I was wondering if there is an adjustment I need to make in the gun or if it's my regulator. Thanks for any help.

what regulator are you refering to? the one on the tank or do you have another one installed on the gun?

The regulator is built into the bottle. I can't determine where the problem is. From what I read it could be a bad powertube, mainspring, or even a gas leak in the cyclone feeder. Getting frustrating.

Yep, it's probably a bad drive spring. Grab a new one from Maddman or Trinity, they make aftermarket spring kits.
Polishing your internals will also help increase your velocity. Search for the instructions. |

LOL, after reading up through the forum about 35 pages back I ordered a spring kit from trinity. I'm going to go find some BB's for a quick fix until the spring kit comes in. Thanks alot for your help guys. One more NOOB question please. The drive spring is the spring that fits between my stock and the hammer not the one that goes up top on the bolt correct? I'm not totally ignorant of how things work but I wanted to make for sure. Thanks again.

I'm not sure of what you're referring to as "on top of the bolt" but the drive spring is the spring that drives the hammer. It should be held by the endcap or stock if you have one, and it should have a guide pin in it. |

I meant the spring that slides on the bolt. But thanks, I figured that was the drive spring.

Used the BB method and polished my internals. FPS went from 220 to 260. A big improvement but still room to get better. I have some trinity springs in the mail and I'm looking at other things i can do to improve my situation. Thanks for all your help guys, any further suggestions are still appreciated!
