will co2 or hpa disinigrate or umm ruin teflon tape? What i mean is, lets say you put an expanstion chamber on your gun, to seal the screw in part, you should put teflon tape on it so you wont get any air leaks. Well what i want to know is, with the co2 or hpa passing through it, will it age or make the teflon tape go away in time? thanks

no HPA and CO2 won't harm teflon tape. you should only put it on tapered pipe fittings though, not on fittings that have o-rings on them.

If installed properly so that it seals the threads it will retain the seal indefinitely. Teflon is not degraded by oxygen, hydrogen, CO2 or certainly not high pressure air or nitrogen. It is also not degraded by natural gas, gasoline or propane. It is used to seal steam systems and Freon and ammonia refrigeration systems. It will not "go away" in your lifetime...or five of six of them. |
