Sure, some might think stocks might suck blah blah *don't want to hear it* blah blah cause I'm getting one. BTW when I say regular 98 Custom I'm talking about any 98C that doesn't have ACT. I was looking on ebay and I'm going to buy a Tapco T6 Stock for my 98 Custom, but I was wondering what the difference between the regular 98 model Tapco stock and the one that is made for the ACT Tippmann 98 version (other than the fact that the ACT version works in the ACT and all the other 98 model guns). I figured maybe the one that fits in the regular 98 models would fit in those guns better. And that the ACT version of the Tapco Stock, might and or would slide out easier of the regular 98 models. Or might wobble more I Don't Know? Is there any difference? Because how can one work in the ACT and another not if they look exactly the same in the pics I saw; there must be some type of difference. Which one should I get is there going to be any difference in the feel or performance wise etc.? Edited by phil_stl - 17 August 2006 at 11:38pm |

Get the regular 98c one. The ACT one connects onto the ACT I believe.

its not too hard to drill a hole for the act spring in a stock. i had it done in about 5 minutes. but it has to be the EXACT same depth as the hole in the end cap. but they all fit.

I would personally never drill on my gun... so I'd suggest going with the regular 98 one lol

Hey guys I don't have an ACT marker I have the regular 98 custom. But I was wondering if I should get the regular stock or the one that is made to fit the ACT (and it also fits all of the older markers). Because the ACT on is available from a nicer seller on ebay and the other stock for the regular is available from a jerk on ebay. Some might not have understood that I have the regular 98 Custom, so I just wanted to clarify that. You guys are saying that the only difference between the ACT and the 98 Custom is that the ACT stock has an extra hole in it or something? Wouldn't that make the blowback gas less effiecent for my rear hammer and my cylcone and Super RT because there would be more room for air to fill up a hole that air doesn't acctually need to fill up normally. |

The hole in the ACT one is for a spring. It's not needed if you dont have ACT, therefore go with the regular stock.

No. It wont change effieciency at all. it is just a small indent to hold the spring for the act system

The difference between the two stocks lies with the differences in the ACT system and the regular (old) 98's . In the ACT equipped markers there is an extra hole to accomodate the ACT spring in the plug you will be removing to install the stock . in the markers without the ACT , there isnt a hole to fit the ACT spring in because the markers arent made with it , and dont need it . The extra hole in the ACT compatible stock will not reduce or interfere with the fit or function of an older 98 Custom , nor will it reduce efficiency of the marker , there is no gas pressuring that area of the marker , its BEHIND the rear bolt (hammer) . To answer your question fully , which included mention of the ACT and its differences , we needed to address the ACT and how its built versus the old style 98C's . We also assume , since you own a 98C that you hopefully understand its construction and operation , Hence the emphasis on information about the ACT system . Read the answers to your question , and if you must to understand them , take apart your marker and look at the pieces we are talking about , your going to need to anyway . If you have problems understanding the ACT system , look in the product section of this website , NOT THE FORUMS , for an excellent illustration of the Anti Chop System and how it functions . Compare that to how your marker is made , and in time you will see how one stock would work in both and one stock would fit only the 98 Custom . |

ya thanks, I decided to buy the regular one two days ago (or 1.5 days ago) when I went to the tippmann home page and saw the ACT flash media playing and realized the difference and what extra hole/indent would be in the stock. I should have said to everyone I got the regular stock like yesterday when I bought it so you wouldn't have wasted time trying to help me after I had already helped myself. So sorry bout that. But still, thanks for your response. |
