something's wrong with my e-grip when i put it on any firing mode that isnt semi-automatic it will continuosly fire until i rapidy pull the trigger or pull back on the cocking lever thing to stop the bolt.(sorry for crap explination)

EX. i had it on full auto, and after i pulled the trgger fast enough to enable the full auto it would keep shooting after i took my hand off the trgger(it would fire by itself)

i know it isnt a worn down sear or rearbolt because i could hear the  solinoid  going off tripper the sear. i changed the battery, took the trigger apart and reasembled it. i reset the programming. any ideas on what the problem is?

It sounds like you need to adjust the trigger. The A5 trigger with E-grip is very sensative . The trigger is actually opening the micro-switch vs. closing it like the 98CPRO, and therfore is sensative to mechanical bounce. you may want to increase the return spring pressure if you trigger is stock or re-adjust it if the trigger is an After market such as the JCS.

i have the tippmann double trigger on it, and i did take that little metal clip and stuff like that off of it. where do you think i could get a better return spring like at home depot or something.(the return spring is the red one at the front correct?)

This is the exact same problem i have been having with my tippmann,

i have noticed i that run away firing is more of a problem when trying to shoot over 15bps.

i have tried all of the following to try and stop this "run away firing",

i have messed around with the dwell settings, put it to minimum dwell put it to max dwell,

i began to think that the vibration of the marker when firing was causing the microswitch to move or something, so i removed the microswitch and put a less sensitive microswitch on, still this did not fix the problem, - this was a massive pain in the A** would not recomend trying to do this unless it was absoloutly necessary...

so i asked at my local paintball field, i had a suggestion that the rear sear may be worn down, so i contacted tippmann, they sent me a replacement electronic sear and a replacement rear bolt, i installed them and again this did not solve the problem,

i purchased all new internals, red hot power tube, new front bolt, (recieved rear bolt & sear from tippmann) purchase a spares kit replaced all o rings and seals and springs including e-grip, techt metal rachet, qev, and still this never solved my problem...

i looked closely at the e-grip again and noticed that the long firing pin inside the e-grip was quite close to the board so i put some electrical tape across the board so there was no chance that the firing pin was touching the solder that may short circuit the board and cause it to fire, this again never solved the problem.

so i have come to conclusion that the tippmann a5 just cant cope with the high rates of fire that the W.A.S board can provide, even on 15bps i still get run away firing now and again,

If someone disagrees and has found a way to solve this problem please pass this information on, im sure we'd all be greatfull...

The only way I was able to take care of my WAS problem was to send my entire trigger housing to the Tippmann service department.  I asked them to fix it and not return it to me unless they put it on a marker in the shop and made sure it worked.  They ended up telling me I had a bad WAS board.

did tippmann give you a new board?

Has anyone with the APE board ever had this problem?

I just got my E-Grip but in a "lucky" way I got the classic E-Grip Board, by Tippmann which can do 19BPS....you use dials to set the mode\rps...very nifty, no problems so far, the simplier, the better with boards in my opinon.. the WAS has more features on it that can become corrupt\faulty...such as Debounce etc...Rampage board is said to be the best of the best, it puts the WAS to shame.

The only thing I got back that I sent them was the trigger housing.  Everything else was replaced.

^^^I really don't see why people spend over 100$ and days of work to fix an E-Grip when they can just send it in.. bad-boards are normal, people should know that by now, and WAS has a HORRIBLE reputation for sending out broken\bad boards.
