Hey - first time posting, nice forum. I've searched on other's trouble with pro carbine velocity on this forum; but it looks as if everyone else has a procarbine shooting too hot. But my problem is it is shooting velocity is too low. Sub 250 according to the chrono. That's with stock & rifled barrels, using full and half-full tanks of Co2 on 60 degree days and a 70 degree days. It was not working well when I got it off of ebay. So I got a rebuild kit (springs and O-rings) and got it working again, replaced all old parts, cleaned it up inside & out real good. However, even with the velocity screw completely removed, the best I can shoot at is 250! On the upside, it is very consistent, staying within the 240's range. What do I need to do to increase velocity on my Tippy ProCarbine?? Edited by glockulator - 15 October 2006 at 12:03pm |

removing the screw will actually reduce velocity, just unscrew it a lot.
did the previous owner try to lighten the hammer or anything? |

I am pretty sure you wouldnt want the screw removed completely because that would cause air to leak. Try putting it back in and just mess around with it for awhile till you get it right.

well, half way thru the game it fell out and got lost anyway. but i never heard gas escaping or anything from the marker. and finding parts for this puppy is nearly impossible! geesh! so now i need to order a new screw & spring before i can re-start trouble shooting this problem

I think you can find the velocity screw at a hardware store . Enos put up a "Sticky" detailing the parts that were commonly available and their specs . He is the Procarbine Guru in these parts , so do a search for his post , you'll find what you need . |
