    Posted: 22 October 2006 at 3:12am

Noob here but I have spent several hours playing with my egrip and I have a couple questions. Note that I have not tried to shoot and will not have a chance till morning (dont want all the neighbors pissed)

1) I read where the metal piece/spring on the double trigger should be removed similar to that of the normal trigger that comes with the egrip. However when I cock the gun and pull the trigger this way nothing happens (with no air attached). When the trigger with the spring piece is attached it will work. Perhaps this is normal operation or should it work when I pull the trigger in this circumstance?

2) The metal leaf that the trigger depresses is incredibly fragile. Should I superglue that piece on there?

3) If the battery runs out is my gun useless or will it still fire like the base grip?

thanks to all. I have read through several posts but I have not found this specific questions and I have to play in roughly 6 hours.

1) What kind of double trigger do you have? Does the trigger depress switch? I have a rufus dawg double trigger and if you notice, there is a little bump on the back of the stock trigger. If your double trigger doesn't have that, you may have trouble getting it to fire. I sent mine into rufus dawg and they put a set screw in the back and it works fine now.

2) The metal leaf is supposed to be like that. Don't superglue it cause that is what depresses the switch to fire the gun.

3) If your battery dies, then yes your gun is useless. Always carry a spare.

Thanks very much for the reply. Unforntunately I wasted an entire day on the field trying to get this thing to work. Regarding the double trigger it is Tippmann, and the normal trigger that comes with the egrip also has this metal piece taken out. I think I may have realized the problem.

The rear sear will not depress due to the trigger like a standard gun, it rely's on the long metal piece that is right next to the battery to bounce up and down and this is what now controls firing. However mine does not bounce up and down,  so I am wondering what could be wrong.

I installed my normal trigger (the one from the base model containing the metal piece still attached) and it fired fully automatic. However, it chopped my paintballs up something fierce. It would sound fully automatic but shoot one ball and chop the rest. My friend had his on three shot burst and oly one ball would fly out as well but we could hear three shots. I will call tippmann to see what is going on but this e-grip has not gotten off to a good start at all.

are you using an A-5? cause i know with the A-5 carring a spare battery would be useless because you'd have to disconnect the air and then get someone to cover you while you screw around with taking the slide pins out and taking the trigger interior out to put the battery in. also if you go to shoot the gun and the trigger is set to any firing mode other that semi auto and the gun shoots it's self ( will shoot even after you take your finger off the trigger and won't stop) after you pull the trigger at fast rate. send it back to tippmann  for a replacement because WAS boards can be unreliable, but also if you need to send it in tell them not to send you one untill they check to see if it's in perfect working condition

Umm, im pretty sure he was just talking about having it with you at the field so if it dies in a game, you leave the game and then put it in so at least when it dies your entire day isnt over.

when yah but i'm saying it's useless to carry it with you during an actual game, keeping one in a tool box or whatever you hold your gun in is a good idea, i have 3 spares with me.

Is there a magnet next to the solenoid? On mine there is a little magnet right beneath the solenoid that helps pull it back down once it shoots. Check that.
