so i've been in the market for a car for quite some time, now.  so far, everything i look at is either junk, or sold.  but then i found this.  it's 4-speed, 4 cyl, and modified dual carb and $3500 obo.  but now, the only thing is, convincing my dad it's cool .  Here is how i see it.  It's a durable car without many electornics, nice paint, good milage, they're known to be extremely reliable, and you can jump over sand dunes and stuff with it.  The girls will think it's cute, and it's quicker and tougher than most of my friend's cars...

If Pimp My Ride did something to it, then the car isn't cool.

However, the true question here is what kind of gas mileage does it get?

i ignore pimp my ride.  i won't let a tv show control my decisions...

and it's a 4-cyl and it's super light, so i'm guessing 25+

EFFIN DO IT!

You'd be living my dream. Well, one of the many at least. I notice you like the same cars I do. What's your favoritest car ever?

Your life resides on the correct answer.

argh, i want to get it so bad, but my dad "get a dependable car, and then get a 'play around' car...  you should get that camaro with the V6..."  he doesn't realize how contradictive he's being.

btw: my favorite car within reason would have to be a 300zx.  favoritest car ever would have to be...  Shelby Cobra (not a mustang)

edit: this is the leetsauce car my dad wants to get me...  ugh...

He drove a BMW Isetta, not a VW bug.

I have 1973 super beetle. The electronics are prone to go bad on bugs, just tired wires. Its super easy to fix if you ever needed to, and parts are very cheap.

Id offer something considerably less than $3000, you can probably find a better one on www.thesamba.com/vw

If you are really interested in an old VW I sujest you look there, and if you get one, stay in the forums there. The people there are really nice and can help with almost any problem.

Meh. They're nice, but Shelby jacked the design from Austin-Healy. Not to mention, every one you see is probably a replicar. The originals are among the rarest muscle cars out there.

You do know Carrol Shelby helped design the Viper?

They did something to an 05 mustang GT, they killed it but its still a cool car.

As for the beatle, I would LOVE one to turn into a dune buggy but I dont live out in nevada so its useless to me. Id get it.

my issues of popular mechanics have some replicar that claims to do a rediculous quarter mile and a 0-60 or 3 seconds.  It's a kit car, pretty much the essentials, I'd buy it though
