just wondering...if i take the asa out of the powertube (98c or pro/carbine) can i just put some teflon tape on the male adapter when i screw it back in or do i need to use that tedlon paste stuff?

never taken it off before, thinking of getting a vertical adaptor or something, maybe putting on a remote coil adaptor into it

I prefer teflon tape. In answer to the original question, yes, it can be used on the powertube. Either one can cause problems if not used properly.
  • If you get carried away with locktite, it can flow into places you don't want it in and gum up stuff.
  • If you aren't careful when installing parts with teflon tape, small bits of the tape can get inside the valve and possibly interfere with the cup seal.
