Anyone have experience with it?
I'm not buying one or nuthing, I just wanna hear how it does. I know 2 or 3 people who just got theirs, and of course they think it's perfect but they've never played before so I don't think that counts for much. Aside from knowing it's very heavy, how does it do? |

I havent had any personal experience with one, but I've heard they're decent guns, but nothing too special. www.pbreview.com will give you some more info on them. |

First of all, just go play with them, thats the easiest way to find a marker strengths and weaknesses...
And last time i checked, Spyders are almost as bad as Brass Eagles, so don't go comparing them to a Tac 5(if your gonna try and flame me, don't waste your time, that first and last spyder i bought had plastic screws holding it together and within 2 games i had to stop playing and switch guns becuase it was broken....) Third and lastly, The Tac 5 is a very good reliable gun, great for woodsball... enjoy it! hope that helps a bit... Edited by Black_Shadow - 15 February 2007 at 2:30pm |

Yeah, I've got experience with the tac-5, my advice, you might as well buy a slingshot and use it to go paintballing with. The tac-5 is a nice marker, but it is NOT one you would want to get into a gunfight with, every time I shot a rapid (and by rapid I mean one shot every half a second) stream (or if you could call it that) it would uncock itself, and I would be stuck getting shot from all sides. If you were to be a single shot sniper, then I might reccomend it because it has good accuracy, but nothing else.

Tippmanns are cool like Dye's are expensive, and JT Protiums are great markers too!

Yeah, I got lit up this past weekend using my friends Tac-5, It didn't even have a chance against the 6 other tippmann 98c's
, the friggin' thing just kept un cocking itself and I was left getting pummeled by paintballs, I'm never going to buy a Tac-5 for myself, I'll just trick out my tippmann 98c.

The merker has nothing to to with accuracy, It all paint to barrel match... ok 10% marker 90% paint to barrel match. |

Note: the longer the barrel usually measns the straighter the ball flies, I used a Tac-5 with sniper attachments and a sniper barrel, It still sucked, I could, like I said, only take 5 shots before I had to re-cock the stupid thing. |

Uhm, exactly what scientific evidence do you have to prove your longer-barrel theory? Because you'd better have a ton, otherwise you're going to get ripped to shreds next-time you put that out there. Optimum barrel length on ANY marker is between 11.5" and 14" Accuracy IS primarily determined by paint-to-bore match, and the higher the polish or finish in the barrel, the less drag on the round, so the increased accuracy. Proper machining (straight bore with equally thick sides)is the final factor. Those are the ONLY factors that determine accuracy. Put up your SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN info and I'll put up the volumes of scientifically gathered info to back the FACTS that Langside and I are stating. |

Whoa whoa whoa I didn't wanna start a sniper/ anti sniper war debate, just a simple question.
The Tac-5 must have a few kinks to work out and from the sounds of it has a bad machine making it. Some people swear by it and think that it's reliable, cool looking and all around great. Others think it's terrible. Weird... whatever, thanks. |

Ok, I know that it is your opinion that the tac 5 is better than a spyder. My opinion on this is that spyders are way better I have use both guns and ya the tac5 is great if you don't mind a heavy piece of junk. As for the plastic screws in you spyder, I don't know what spyder you have been using but mine and all of my friends spyders have all metal parts except for the grip frame. |

I was just countering his point that it was the Tac-5 that made the shots inaccurate. As it goes, the Tac-5 has hung in there pretty well. the first generation was extremely heavy, but they've lightened up a bit. I'd put them on the same plane as the old-school Raptor or Spyder markers. |
