Ok currently Me, My Grams, And my mom all share a plan.

My phone cant be upgraded tell 2008.
But my grams can be upgraded right now.

So i was thinking if i upgraded her phone and took the new phone for myself and put my sim card in it.

Then she keeps her old phone.

Would this work?

Yes. To explain, by upgrade they mean get a free phone or one at an extreme discount. Account info is stored on your SIM cards, aside from a carrier locking the OS on the phone, they are interchangeable. Operating frequencies are a different story though...
