Hey all, i have an A5. i put a vortex cyclone mod in when i bought it. 3 hours of play later, the bearing on the brass rod was gone, i mean non existant. it was there when i installed it. the ratchet also had considerable wear too. so i put the stock ratchet and ros in. 2 hours of play later, the ratchet was cracked. now what? the stock parts are junk, but the metal ones crap out too??? I dont play speed ball, i just go out in the woods with a few friends now and then. i thought the A5 was a good machine. any ideas? thanks.

I'm going to assume you installed the lightning rod (brass rod you refer to) with your vortex mod? It sounds to me you possibly didn't grease the vortex properly. They say not to oil it. Only use grease. If you use oil on the vortex it could fail. Last, as far as the bearing being gone, did you install the lightning rod with the bearing on top? If it was installed wrong the instructions say it to could fail. So far I have both the vortex and lightning rod installed on my A5. Over 4000 shot's with my APE board running at full auto. Not a single problem yet. I soon will be installing the Q.E.P.H mod also. I will check to see if the lightning rod or vortex have any signs of wear when I do.

I might have installed the lightening rod upside down (bearing). But what is the Q.E.P.H. mod / what does it do?

It's this! I have one of the first 250 BETA's in the mail to me right now! I hope it works better than my Smart Parts Q.E.V. I still get no feed (empty) shots every now and then.
