Money isn't an issue since I'll save until I can afford it, but I think with some planning I have been able to max out everything else so now I'm down to upgrading the hopper. From what I can tell these are the options and what I think let me know what you think and why, I'm mostly looking for a lower profile, and want to keep a majority of my ammo capacity. I'm on the fence for most of them so a little push either way would help me decide, ranked from highest to lowest.
Tac-Hopper - Holds decent ammo, lets me keep the cyclone, but looks like it may be flimsy? Cuts a decent amount of the profile Q-Loader - Heard good and bad, don't mind learning how to use it best, Cuts the most of profile. Biggest concern is, is there any noticeable loss in accuracy due to the dimpling caused by spring pressure on balls in magazine? Also don't know if the irreversability of the mod will keep me from buying it. X-7 Hopper - It's interchangeable right? looks like a squashed A-5 hopper so thats a lower profile. Richochet - Same as stock but shaped funny to deflect ball breaks? Don't know the name - I saw something that was a tube that holds 15 shots on the top of the gun, right above the barrel. 15 shots is too few and looks hard to reload. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. |

I recommend the Richochet. It' the only one that will give you a chance of deflecting a break. The Tac looks cool, but it will put you a disadvantage in a game.

I got the X7 hopper for my A-5, and it looks so much better than the bulky stock. It deflects balls also, but not as good as the ricochet. Personally, I don't like the way to ricochet looks at all. I've put in thought to buy a q-loader but it seems to much money for me now and your right, its irreversible unless you buy another part for the cyclone.

if you get the rico or X7 hopper you'll get what you want.
either will give you less profile and you'll keep your ball capacity. |

Nice, thanks for the thoughts, looks like I'll be trying to track down an x-7 hopper next. If anyone else has any thoughts I plan on cheking the thread for a few more days.
A minor secondary question, since it looks like im keeping the cyclone, will those vortex, lightning rod, and qeph things allow me to get the full 25PBS out of my APE board. Not, that I really plan on using it, but I rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it if you know what i mean. Plus I think I'd go crazy if I had no more upgrades to work on, research or tinker with. Turbo+ is my mode of choice, single for the aimed shots, but still able to lay some paint down for any "surprises" Edited by Pirate1650 - 25 April 2007 at 11:02am |

Wait just to be sure... Have you upgraded your cyclone with a vortex and lightning rod I would suggest putting some money in that as it will allow you to reach maximum bps...but i like the richorchet personally

Didn't care for the Ricochet. It broke after about two weeks of play. It isn't nearly as sturdy as the Tippmann hopper IMHO.

You can't snipe anyways because there are no snipers in paintball. |
