A5, stock hopper and internals, with Response Trigger
88c/4500 psi HPA Tank When I use the response trigger with CO2, I can get it to work just fine. However, if I gas the gun up with my HPA, it seems as though I don't even have a response trigger, and I've tried tuning it for about an hour now. Is there something I'm missing or is it possible that it's just an internal problem? Thanks in advance. |

What is the output pressure from your HPA bottle? |

If your output pressure is atleast 800-850 psi then your good. The only thing about R/Ts and HPA is that they don't combine to well all the time. R/Ts like co2 for some reason. Possibly because it expands in the gun or is usually at a higher pressure than HPA by just a little.

That's interesting, I am having trouble getting the RT to work with CO2 so I ordered an air tank which I believe should provide a very consistant pressure. I should have it in a few days and I'll let you know what happens. My experience has always been that the CO2 pressure drops damatically as you are firing and the tank gets very cold, and that is why a good regulator is required. Even so you would have to use a gun that uses 350 PSI so you could still maintain that pressure as the CO2 pressure drops below 850 when the tank gets cold. I believe an unregulated CO2 tank would cause all kinds of inconsistencies and irratic operation. Since the X7 has no regulator you are at the mercy of the unregulated CO2 tank pressure if you use that gas. The X7 requires 850 PSI but if your tank temperature drops to 60 degrees your output pressure will drop to 700 PSI. In my mind Air is the only way to go with an X7.

Lube up the cylinder behind the trigger, sometimes that always got the R/T working for me again.

maybe it needs more air flow. has anyone tried using HPA with a Super R/T?

It's funny I just gave up on running HPA on my 98 recently. I have an RT and was running my HPA through a male Stab and got little bursts but nothing to compared to the hopper unloading strings like Co2. I figured having an output pressure of 850 from my Crossfire, and then having my Reg set to full pressure (800) I wouldn't have any problems?... Never tried the Super RT, but I heard thats what the problem is you have to order the larger diameter hoses to allow more airflow to properly cycle the RT piston normally. Your marker is starved of pressure. Co2 is a more dense gas and will have a higher output compared to regulated HPA, or so I was told. I'd love to hear more responses about this subject for it has been driving me crazy |

I took your suggestion and pulled the fitting off the side and dropped about six drops of oil in the fitting and that thing fired like a machine gun. Oh and I should mention that in order to get the oil to go in I would put a couple of drops on the fitting and then used a pair of pliers to pull the shaft out which created a suction to pull the oil in. I did this a few times and it worked like a charm. Still have not tried the air tank yet, should be here in a few days. |
