XBox Live help...

   I'm going to sound like the nub that I am, but I can't get my XBox 360 connected to Live. I'm trying to directly link it to my modem with an ethernet cable, but I can't seem to get the modem to assign the 360 an IP adress.

I called Comcast and sat around for 15 minutes to talk to some Indian dude who told me basically to keep trying the same thing until it worked, then went on Xbox's and Comcast's websites to find info and followed their advice... Still no Live.

It says that I need to allow DHCP to assign an adress, but I can't find anywhere in the configuration to change that setting.

I've been turning off the modem, waiting, plugging the ethernet cable between the 360/modem, then turning on the 360, waiting, then turning on the modem. 

Am I doing things in the wrong order? 

If not, does anyone have any advice as to how to change the DHCP settings? I'm running Windows XP if that helps.

	What modem? Also, no router?
