High velocity can put wear on your gun's internals, be...alittle dangerous, and can mess up your accuracy. A gun the double/triple fires can be annoying, bad for your parts as well, and give you some pretty messed up shot groupings. No way around it, both of these are bad for your gun. In some rare occurance, I have this choice with my 98c ACT EPro. I have a BT Spring kit but the lightest spring in the box at a similar cut length is actually stronger than the factory spring. the only problem is that it will make it double/triple fire quite viciously. For this problem the Tippy Techies said I had to send in my W.A.S. board for a new one because... and I quote "when the gas gets hooked up and flows through the gun the Egrip acts funky sometimes." My stock spring is then too strong and the velocity with the screw all the way in is above normal field regulations. For this problem I was told to "cut a few rings off of the spring". I have not tried this one yet because I can't fabricate springs out of thin air in case I mess up. My questions for the forum are... Is there a solution that I haven't heard of yet? And has anyone ever tried cutting the bolt spring? |

Cutting drive springs is fairly standard. Don't cut too much. Replacement springs can be had from Tippmann or any proshop if you mess it up. You might also consider an RVA. |
