AND THERE WAS THE FACEMELTER II:
     Well to say the least, the tape and black paint went terrible. Everything was going good till I put that first coat of black on. For some reason, it decided to crack away in some places (it might have been a little cold i'm guessing) so I had to put on a bunch of coats to kind of fill in the cracks. Then I ran out of paint so it sprayed some blobs on there but those didn't seem to show. Then I'm pulling off the tape and since I did so many coats, the black was thick and pulled off in places with the letters... So I took a black Sharpie and filled in spots. I think I did pretty well in covering it up. Then it was supposed to be flat black but the clear coat has to go gloss it up.. O well... It's finished. How's it look? I can't wait to shoot this bad beast. Specs: WAS board LPK Bob Long Torpedo Reg (I believe that's what it's called) TechT Fang trigger Centerfeed 14'' J&J S2 Ceramic Empire 10 piece barrel kit Shocktech drop (soon to be a rail) Kapp ASA Dye Stickies (possibly looking for a new pair of grips, these are shot) Changing the crossfire gauge to a dime sized gauge once I get it All the body milling in the world + paintjob Edited by bassist11 - 03 October 2007 at 1:24am |

Yep.. Might go with a powdercoat flat black and FACEMELTER II in red or somethin.. Not sure how I can get a design on a powdercoat though cause I heard the heat just destroys everything you could put on the gun.. I'll get the powdercoat from a local business though.

what you would have to do is powdercoat the entire gun black then let it cool. they make a special tape that can withstand the heat from powdercoating. You would have to tape up the entire gun, then cut out your design. Making sure all of the tape is securely attached to the gun so it doesn't peel while in the oven. If all goes well with your design you would then put a clear coat on it, because the design will be raised off the gun from the added layer of powdercoat. It would be very tricky you would have to make sure you taping was perfect for it to turn out well.
