This is a bit of a newbie question, but here it goes. Can a barrel cleaner scratch a barrel? I mean today after a paintball game when I was cleaning all my gear I used a barrel cleaner on my 16" progressive barrel 3 times to make sure it was clean and I looked down the barrel and it appeared that there were little streaks down the barrel. But if i were to point it up to the sky, The streaks would disapear and it would be like a mirror but...are those scratches?

Sometimes they are just manufacture marks. Other than that, if it feels like a gash, then maybe it did scratch it. Always use squeegies that are a soft rubber or all cloth or a combo.

Usually, it's just machining marks. SP and many other barrel manufacturers tend to use lower-grade aluminum bar-stock to machine their barrels so you get little imperfections in them. To my knowledge, LAPCO uses the best materials and machining out there to make barrels, J&J doesn't have to worry as much since their Ceramic series is coated with ceramic and teflon which makes them pretty nice as well.
