So.. I bought a used e-grip.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=15017 2467205

The one pictured isn't the one that the guy shipped me, the black piece is still attached on mine and the silver piece (noid?) doesn't have the big yellow stripe on it.

Anyway, how does the pin stay in place? I dont think the noid will stay against the pin, but I dont know. I need to solder the 9v connector to the board still. Second thing is, I have a small magnet about 3/8'' in diameter that came with it. does this rest beneath the solenoid or no?

Edit: Grr. I can connect the wires by just touching the connector. I'm following the directions to change the polarity to CP from A5, and it aint doing anything. I either get low battery or just flashing orange.

Sorry for the vague noob questions, I tried the online manuals and got jack.

Your battery may indeed be low. Anywho, the sear-rod stays in place by fitting in a groove in your grip. It merely rests against the 'noid.
