So, Ive known the end of the Mag was near, I just didnt know what I was going to do. So, it has come down to parting out the Mag and buy a brand new Grass Green LE Fusion for $265. OR, I got a trade offer for a dust black DM5 with~
I havent gotten almost any useful advice so far from asking numerous people. The way I thought of it from numerous charts, the DM5 should be getting about 1650 shots off of a 68/4500, but no one has really even guessed an anwser for me. Everyone keeps telling me spool vs FASOR. Basically, whats your opinions one the guns? Both are great, and will be good. Both look apealing, about the same size. The DM5 will shoot more brittle paint, which isnt a problem. Itll shoot it smoother, which isnt that big with me. The Fusion has more efficiency, but 1650 to 1800 really isnt that many shots to make up your mind about. The only thing thats got me, is that many people complain about problems with Matrixes(Matrices?), but, I figure most is user error and o-ring problems. I clean/take apart the guns after every day of play. BUT, the LE Fusion has a lifetime warrenty, and great CS. |

It's up to you, really. The DM will be quieter, potentially faster (not like its a huge factor anymore...), but also a huge pain to maintain compared to something like a Fusion. Matrixes at times seem like a project that was launched to see how many o-rings could possibly go into a marker, but I'm sure it won't be too bad if you are used to servicing your markers after every day of play. That DM certainly sounds awesome though, especially with the techna trigger. Its quite difficult, and the only way I could possibly see for you to find a definitive answer would be to shoot them both.

In this instance, DM5 > DPFLE
Now, if it was the DM5 vs the DPF8, I'd have to say the '08 Fusion. |

And the reason? They are very similar. |

Weight, for one thing. Also, there are a few other nice tweaks and changes in the operating system of the DPF8 that make it really stand out this year. They shaved 2/3 of a pound off of it from the previous year btw. Let me get home where I've got all the stats in front of me and I'll post more. |

The Fusion is made in Korea crap. They are also hard to find parts for, I'd skip on it.

So you would go with the DM5. Fusions are known for their quality usually. How much do you guys think the DM would go for? I guess I could always try it, then sell it if I don't like it. |

Tallen, for some reason its not letting me PM you, so, hopefully you'll re-read the thread. Do you really think the F8 is worth the extra cost? I dont mind it being a little bit heavier, the LPR makes no difference, it seems simple. Its just the Lifetime warrenty idea. Id like it to be a gun I keep, not just boot after a year like my past guns. I think ill wait to see if the DM5 comes with the box/warrenty card. If it doesnt, itll go back to the F8 and Fusion. |

Well, personally I'd prefer the DPF series just because they're newer. I've never liked a DM past the DM4 series, but the DPFs (both 7 and 8) have had nothing but rave reviews from their users over on MCB and other sites I frequent. I think you'd be happy with either of the DPF series. You'd probably be happy with the DM5 as well. It really comes down to a matter of preference and which features you want to key in on. Having started playing competitive speedball again, I lean more towards light and fast (hence my desire to build my e-cocker to be fast and efficient), thus my bias towards the DPF8. Like you said, see what the DM comes with, if you don't get the card and box, it really isn't a big deal as there is very little to go wrong and almost nothing you can't fix on it for $50 or less. I know it doesn't help make the decision easier, but you'll probably be happy regardless of what you choose. As for me, I'm now dealing for another dinosaur of the early electro years. A Spyder EM1. The only Kingman I'll ever own other than a Hammer.

Why loose the mag its already offers amazing reliability great factory support and can be moded into any direction you would like.
I don't have a need myself for any more speed than my X-Valve with ULT offers but i am positive that if i ever get the bug for more speed i Will opt to turn my X-valved mag into a spyder mag. That beings said you sound pretty decided on leaving the mag behind and moving into the much more modern electros and in my opinion that INVERT MINI is one nice electro and one i would not mind owning myself. |

Hehehhe, I'll sell it to you before I even buy it..... that makes me an official gun-whore doesn't it!
Seriously, I'll probably screw around with it. take it to the field a couple of times, and then hang it or sell it. |

I thought about the Mini, but I'm not sure if I'd like it or not, the trigger frame looks comfy. I keep hoping that the store by me will have one, but usually SP, Proto, and tippy. |
