I know I always reccomend the J&J barrel but I need a new barrel for my cocker and I was thinking about one of these.

I cant decide if I want one of these or a J&J kit.  Any input?

imo, i think that barrel is ugly and it's by spec ops, go with a stiffi or a j&j kit.

I had 3 barrels for my Sniper: a Stiffi, a CP, and the stock barrel. I played with all of them and I really didn't notice a difference between the Stiffi and CP other than weight. I just sold my Stiffi.

If I were you, I'd go with the JJ Kit.

Yes, I'm ignoring the "close thread" notice.  I'm a rebel what can I say.  I rip the tags off of mattresses and take 11 items into the 10 items or less line at the supermarket as well.

thejudge, I use the J&J kit on one of my Autocockers and have been quite pleased with it.  (Especially since the stock barrel let the paint roll right out.)

I used one and liked it alot too (I borrowed a friends)  the only thing that sucked was he only had the smallest back and my paint was a lil too big especially in the cold but the shots that didnt break flew perfectly. Thanks again all.

Curious, are spec ops barrels bad?

Cheers,

Honestly I am not sure thats why I asked on here.  It says that they partnered with Stiffi so they cant be too bad.  I like the look with the tips and a shroud personally but I know and love the performance of the J&J barrel.

Frankly I wouldn't get a SpecOps barrel. Partially because of how awesome my Lapco is () and partially because I really don't want to support that company in any way. Though mostly because of how awesome the Lapco is.

I like my J & J barrels.  Have the 12" for my A-5 and Automag, and a 14" for my Pro/Am.  I may consider a J & J kit for the A-5 somewhere down the line when I can afford it (or hide it from the wife).

Hiding it is not necessary.  You just have to maintain an innocent expression while saying the following phrases:

"What new barrel?"

"That old thing, I've had it forever."

If that doesn't work change the subject by asking her if she's put on weight.

My wife works odd ours during the week while I work 3rd Shift.  It is hard to schedule a delivery from online purchasing when she is at her office.  For instance.  I desperately want to buy a J & J barrel for my newly acquired 68 Special, but the only place I can get it from is countrysports.com.  The only way I can think of getting around it, is having it sent to my brother or folks that live an hour away.  I'm screwed.  Or - I won't be if another package with my name shows up on the front step...

Boy, did I get the stink-eye when that 68 Special AND the Ariakon 2.0 ACP landed on the porch a couple of weeks apart from each other.
