Sorry, but there are no snipers in paintball.

If you are looking for suggestions for a good first marker, that is allright but not a sniper one. If you are okay with that, I can definately find you a great first marker.

Search.  There are plenty of A-5 vs 98c threads in the Newb and Which Gun Is Best section.  Also, search for sniper.  You'll get about 1000 threads of how there are NO snipers in paintball. If you do mean what gun is most accurate, then that is a valid question.  I would personally go for a 98c, just because they're bulletproof and simple.  I'd then upgrade the barrel to something like a 12" Lapco Bigshot or J+J Ceramic.

Your choice. Both are great guns though.

just to ammuse you, most "snipers" use the 98c.

the A5 is better for milsim though.

I beleive that we figured that marksman were possible but only with extreme training and practice that almost nobody does have.

Oh and it wouldn't be accomplished with a 98, that is for sure.

I prefer the A5 personally.  I had a 98 and traded it up for the A5.  I love the cyclone feed on it.  As for somplicity they are both pretty idiot proof.  The 98 doesnt have the feed system which you may like since you dont have to worry about it but does not have the same firing speeds right off the bat.  really you should go to a proshop hold them both, if you can borrow someones test them both, then decide.  BUt as said above you def. want to upgrade the barrel right away and the Lapco is louder while the J&J is quieter.

I think what you're looking for is this: The 98 and A5 are just as accurate, and only is one more accurate than the other when you put on an aftermarket barrel.

98 Custom is as simple as it gets. A-5s are good for the whole tactical feel for the game. I am not sure if you play speedball, woodsball or whatever kind of ball there is but that also depends but for a first marker ever I recommand a 98.
