Afternoon fellas I have been debating getting a pack and remote for my marker and have a few questions that couldn't be solved from some research that i have done. For packs I typically see vertical or horizontal pod holders yet I can't figure out which is more optimal. And searching online for remotes I have come across ones that contain slide checks and others with no slide. I have no idea what this term means and can't seem to find any further description.

A slide check is a valve that attaches to the remote line. It allows the air line to be removed from the marker without having to turn off the air supply. As far as which type of pack is better; that is a matter of opinion with some people feeling either way (or some, like me, not liking remotes that much at all.)

I find that horizontal pods are more comfortable and less bulky, but are harder to remove and put back into the harness. This isn't a problem in speedball where you drop empty pods on the field but in woodsball you're not gonna drop them because you won't find them again.

I like vertical pods because for me the horizontal pods when used with 160 round pods stuck out too far and got caught on everything. The verticals work better for me. |

I actually like vests the most. I have used the other types of pod carriers and they just didnt suit my style. granted I play mainly woodsball and dont really know how well they would hold up for speed ball. Its really all about the feel though. Also if you do play speedbal you may not even want a remote. It makes it harder to switch hands if you have to shoot from a diff angle. Whenever I do play any kind of speed I go direct gun on.

Go with the horrizontal pod pack. It is less of a hassle to pull out a pod. The faster you can reload, the less of a chance the badguys can catch you with ur panties around ur ankles.
