98 Custom accuraccy Issue

   My 98 custom has an Accuracy Issue, it will never shoot straight, i have a Tippmann 16" Sniper barrel, the velocity is set between 300 and 280 (i do chrono) I use paintballs that are the right bore size so what do i do next?
I have noticed that there is a bit of a bump in the barrel.
Do i have to buy a new barrel?

	well the tippmann snioper barrels are nothing to rave about as it is so it could be that as the problem. personally i prefer the J&J or the Lapco barrels. Also you dont need it to be 16". It doesnt do much of anything after 10" or so. I have also heard the new Tippmann-Hammerhead Straightline barrels are nice.

	A bump inside the barrel? Probably not a good thing. I have always been of the opinion that everyone else's marker shoots farther and more accurately than my own. I am not alone. If you search the forum you'll see that most agree that accuracy is most effected by the following: 01) Barrel - get yourself a good barrel. Most recommend barrels by CP, J&J or Lapco. Others will recommend a barrel kit. 02) Paint - buy quality paint. It's bad enough the projectile is a round liquid filled object. You don't need to compound the problem by buying paint with large seems, dimples, etc. 03) Propellant - co2 is volatile. Air is stable. You want your output pressure to be as consistant as possible. You cant expect the balls to all land in the same place if one shot is at 260 fps and the next at 290 fps. If you can afford it then get an hpa tank. 04) Pressure - whether you choose to use co2 or hpa you can buy a secondary regulator to help achieve that shot to shot consistancy. Most recommend a Palmers reg. That said, I personally shoot a 98 custom pro with a lapco bigshot barrel, hpa, and a palmers regulator. Am I happy? The jury is still out. Only just broke in the regulator. Appeared to be shooting pretty good the last time I was out but I was more focused on the new field I was at and so will reserve judgement until next time. Also, a number of people will suggest cleaning your internals (which basically means removing all the paint overspray from the inside of your marker). It's easy to do. Can't see how it could hurt as long as you do it right (plenty of how-tos). I really don't think there's anything else you could do that is going to improve on accuracy (but I could be wrong about that).
