If it is making a full cycle (its shooting normally) and a ball simply doesn't shoot, then yes, you are firing the marker without a ball in the breech and the hopper is most likely the cause. In this case, a hopper upgrade would probably help.

When the marker is fired and a ball isn't shot, do you have balls rolling out of the barrel? Or is there simply no paintballs loaded into the marker?

Also, what kind of hopper do you use now?

yea it makes a full cycle and shoots normal, i think the act is doing the job when i fire fast causing it to skip a shot, so i will try a different hopper(i am using the stock one now)

Go with a cyclone. It is an easy install and feeds a ball per shot up to about 15bps. Agitating hoppers will work as well and you can use on other markers if you choose later on to upgrade.

i will try a revvy. i do not want a cyclone, (my other gun is a modded out x7 with response trigger) i bought the 98 as a backup, so i want to keep it kind of simple-but i dont want to miss shots either. i have a revvy with x board i will try, so far i have decked the 98 out with the complete ak 47 tactical kit and a 16" j&j barrel and it looks mean and shoots real good. thanks.

The Revvy should be perfect.
