Ok, so I broke down and bought a Wii for our family this year. Any suggestions on games? It came with Wii Sports and I bought Wii Play and COD War at World (for me). I am looking for decent family games. I have heard Mario Kart was good, but they were sold out of it. Any help would be appreciated. |

MK Wii is a great game.
You can also pick up some of the old game cube games, which are cheaper but you can use them if you've got the GC paddles. I liked Lego Star Wars- It was much more fun than it should have been. I have a friend who loved Mario Galaxy, though I could never get into it. |

My mom bought one about a week ago. Call of Duty is just alright on the Wii when I compare it to the 360 version my roommate's mom bought us. It's so much better. With that said, Mario Party 8 is awesome, and Super Smash Bros. is a must. Mario Kart I haven't bought yet, but apparently it's amazing, and I wouldn't doubt it.

I saw the Lego Star Wars and almost got it. I also noticed some sort of StarWars game that looked like it used light sabers... anyone played it? |

I haven't played them, but from like a 4th party source (A friend of mine heard from a guy he met sort of thing) that they have some trouble with the interface on those.

Any of the "Party" games are awesome. I really like that one game for GC, not sure of the name exactly, but it was like Mario Party but with Wario. It might have just been Wario Party. Who knows.

For family games, get Mario Kart, Mario Party, any of the Raving Rabbits games, or Super Smash Bros.
All good options. |

I like Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. Never too soon to indoctrinate the family in Zombie Apocalypse Survival.
I am always playing CoD5. My online name is javish. Mario Galaxy is great for kids. There are many cheap mini game games for the Wii specilally sports one that the family likes. Being mini games everyone gets to play eventually wich adds to the fun. |

My son and I enjoy playing Godzilla on Wii. The Destruction derby in that game is a blast!

That was the reason we got the one Wii game as it came with a controller and game, so for $50. We also got another Nunchuck and two of the Zappers as my brother and I like a lot of the shootem ups. I was also thinking about getting the one bundle of accessories that has the steering wheel, golf clube etc. It looks to be third party and I typically stay away from these, but does anyone else used them? I looked for the "party" games and they are scarce around here. Will have to look around a bit more. Edited by oldpbnoob - 18 December 2008 at 2:04pm |

i love zelda games, and twilight princess is particularly good. you could save some money on the gamecube version, the wiimote just doesnt do the game justice mario sunshine would be another great gamecube title. and i've heard great things about galaxy as well. |

Played the Wii first time and only for one day, at Troops inlaws. Just bowling and boxing. Ex boxer and had fun pummling son. Close to real boxing and got me up movin and a workout.
BTW Troop is a dad, and Brock (or Brockster) as I call him is a hoot to babysit. So far the powers that be (momma) has nixed a Wii for the house, even though I showed how much exercise I could get with the boxing. |
