I've looked at the same solenoid and thought 3.8" was too big. The drawings give you the dimensions. It will be better if you use an Intimidator solenoid. Solenoid
How are you going to mount the ram? It might have too much volume to be efficient. And you need a stroke of 1.5". You still need a custom striker. |

im going to make a cover and an extremely short stroke so it can be hidden in side the gun and just lok like an end cap

The problem with such a short stroke is that the front bolt needs 1.5" to seal
the ball in the barrel before firing. |

1.5" seems a bit long to me, but then again, its been awhile since Ive messed with my 98s. Measure from the end of the powertube to the barrel then add about 3mm or so to account for where the oring is at on the front bolt.
