As part of my physical therepy the Wii gaming system with Wii Fit and Wii Sports were recommended by the VA. I am getting worn out. I do boxing, 5 bouts or 15 rounds in a row and I am a sweating mass of blubber. me and momma do Wii Fit, and that too wears me out. And finally on a whim I got Guitar Hero World Tour, and we have family band night, I got "elected" as the drummer and vocals since both kids don't do well, so we have a guitar, a bass, drums and vocals. After two hours on Thursday night I am worn out with that too.
This machine is just amazing, next game is Fight Night, Round 3 when it comes out for Wii, finally getting exercise and enjoying it, I just wish I could run again, put on my headphones, a cadence tape on the walkman (or I-pod) and go back to those PT runs of long ago. "C-130 rolling down the strip, airborne daddy goin to take a little trip, stand up, hook up, shuffle to the door, jump right out and count to four....." |

Cadence tapes would make it fun and time will fly as the miles go by, also singing along will enhance breathing control. Just a hint |

I hate running.. and it shows.
OS, I agree the Wii is a blast for the family. Probably not your cup of tea, but my 4 year twin girls love the Barbie Princess game. I think they sit and spend more time setting up their characters than actually playing, but fun nonetheless for them.
I was amazed at how worn out and sore I was the next day from playing the boxing game. My oldest daughter simply beats my arse everytime. Kinda sad actually. I really think it has a problem registering sometimes since I tall and hold my hands up to my face to block punches. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
My favorite so far is Mario Kart, probably because it's the only game that I pretty much dominate on around here. I have COD, but only gotten to play once or twice. It's pretty hard. I need some serious 'no kid time" to get a chance to play it.

Everything in Wii Sports can be done in a sitting position without moving your wiimote more than a foot.

Maybe thats my problem. I'm 6' 1" and use full motions when playing. Our living room is pretty small, so I really cant back up.

I have kind of lost interest in my Wii. Unless I have some people over playing Wii Sports or any other party games I find it boring.
Except for Super Smash Brothers Brawl....however Wii online sucks. |

Bowling is the trickiest as it requires the most vertical space, so I normally slide forward in my seat. Golf is easier to control IMO when sitting. I swing like I'm swinging the bat but add a little hooked motion to get the most power out of it. Putting is different, roll the wiimote on its side and flick your wrist upward. I was determined to play these sitting because the night the Wii dropped, after I picked mine up off preorder from Gamestop at midnight, I stayed up until work the next morning at 6 playing Wii Sports. I threw my shoulder out getting into tennis too much so the next day I discovered the accelerometers are actually pretty sensitive and allow for abbreviated motions. Oh yeah, in bowling if you are right handed just move the guy to the right one click and throw the ball without spin. You will get a strike every time. I'd imagine the same thing works for lefties by moving the opposite direction. |

I've said this before, I'll say it again:
Wii Fit will NOT make you fit. That is not the point of the game. The game is designed to get you used to the idea of doing some form of small workout every day, which would then get you into shape. I keep seeing/ hearing people buying the wii fit expecting big results...it wont happen. I too hate running, I can never stay into it. |

I used to remember a Lowrider cadence from boys state, but I dont remember much of it.
Edit: OS, if you need something to do, drive your truck to NJ. You can upgrade my M14 for me and then go to this Vietnam scenario I'm going to in July. Edited by new jersey - 20 February 2009 at 3:55pm |

Accually,
Motor and battery to start. Possibly piston head, cylinder head, and MAYBE gears.

What kind of M-14? I use a G+G Veteran 405fps stock out of the box. Have 2 and have had no problems with either.

I remember you telling me that you had a nice M16A1 also.
I have a UTG, sadly. Twas all I could afford at the time. Its been upgraded to shoot 380 with .2s, (M120 spring/metal shims/metal bushings) but for some reason it decided to shoot at 330(which was stock) again last time I chronoed it.

So, they finally got a Wii at the nursing home, eh? But seriously, Wii is a great party thing. I've only played it in such situations. |

Spring sets need to be replaced frequently since they do lose power based on being compressed for long periods if not properly stored. I replace my springs 2x times a year to maintain. I have a highly moded TM M16A1 VN, a modified CA XM-177E2, the M-14's, and a highly modified TOP M-60 STD. And a highly moded GBB M-1911A1 380fps w/.25's.
Any questions you can PM me. |

yes, this is true about the wii, but for people in OS's situation, it is a great tool for them to get up and moving, stretching and not just laying around. blood flow, stretching and just movement in general is phenomenal in the rehab process. |

Agreed, I wasn't disputing his use of it, it makes pretty good sense. I just know people who buy them and expect to get ripped, especially girls. |
