if unscrewing the velocity screw will speed it up would taking it out make it shoot really hard or would it slow it down if it looses pressure through that valve?
i am only wondering because i just bought an A5 and i do not know why it is missing the screw.

Get a new velocity screw, the velocity can do all sorts of weird things when it is missing/loose.

There is a good chance your velocity screw is inside the power tube.
It can be turned in so far it falls inside. I have fished out a few at the field.
The judge is right, don't play paintball with an unchronoed, uncontrolled marker.
