I'm not looking for a long-ride bike. Just something for weekend local cruising. Of course, it'll be several years before I buy.

This.

Otherwise, I think it's a pretty cool attention getter for the price, if that's what you're after. Otherwise, just for a weekend or occasional driver, seems like there would be sportier and more comfortable options.

I see that as a parade machine, or something to take to bike shows.

When have you ever seen bikers out somewhere that it didn't turn into an impromptu bike show? Especially around here. The motorcycles line up along King Street in old-town for blocks every weekend in the spring and summer.

I like it because I can't stand the way bikes look today. Furthermore, I don't want something that is going to tempt me to go really fast so that I can die really quickly. I want something leisurely, that has an air of a classic without costing what a Harley WLA does these days.

You've got to remember. I enjoy pipes, scotch whisky, fine food, and history. If I could have it my way, I'd live in a big country estate and spend all of my time in a smoking jacket in the library reading old tomes, smoking a pipe, drinking expensive single-malt and saying "hmm... yes... yes..." between puffs on the pipe and sips of the scotch.

How would this bike not be perfect for me?

Haha, I'm not questioning your taste, I drive a V6 Mustang, 'nuff said LOL

I can see your point, and it is a pretty kickin' bike if you're into that kind of thing. Definately got the right price.
