HPA for a custom 98?????

   i have a question for someone.  i'm new to the sport and bought a used tippman 98 custom which so far i really like.  i'm currently using a CO2 tank and was told that an HPA tank is much better.  my question is, can i use the HPA in place of the CO2 without any special adapters or mods??
