IB4 Wrong Forum NOOOB and Go to Airsoft forum!!!!11!
I'm looking at getting an Airisoft rifle, mainly just for the hell of it. I honestly don't know if I'll ever play but that's always an option. However I'm looking at the G36 rifle. Why? Why not. I like the full metal M4 series, they are nice, but they are too pricey for something that'll be shot in the back yard like once a month. I'm more curious as to gas blow back or AEG? Like I said I probably won't be playing with it, so the limited number of shots with a GBB aren't really an issue. But then it might be. But for the price of a charger and a battery I can buy a handful of mags anyway. Then, WE or Umarex? The G36's available are the WE GBB, the WE AEG and the Umarex AEG. Educumate me please. |

I thought of that Merc, but the Galil/LM Airsoft models, basically, all suck.
They are crappy quality and they only have so so versions of the controls. Maybe it is just the models we can get here, but something as simple as the thumb selector does not work. While a lot of the work is done with the arm selector on a real Galil/LM, it is still an issue. I've also noticed the stocks wear really quickly. Messed around with a couple and they were all nasty. As for an Airsoft version of my Saiga, well..... I dunnoe. I've got one. A real one. I've toyed with the idea of getting one in Airsoft, but it just doesn't grab my fancy. It seems too much gun for 6mm BB's. And I like the G36 :p KBK |

Not having seen your picture before I assume it means "Translation please?" Basically an AEG is an electric gun. It uses expensive batteries that have to charge forever, but can shoot a trillion BB's before needing a battery charge. And their mags can hold anything up to about a million. A GBB is a gas-blow-back. It literally uses expanding gases to propel the BB as well as work the action, similar to a real weapon. The drawback is you need to constantly top up the gas in the system, and the magazines (which hold the gas) only hold a limited number of BB's. Around 30. So IF you play you'll be up against Electric guns that can shoot for hours, with hundreds of rounds per mag. But the GBB's are a more "real" shooting experience. like I said, I don't plan on playing though. I was wondering if there were any drawbacks to the GBB system I hadn't thought of, or if the Uramax AEG was so superior to either WE system that I should not bother with the others. |

Go with a decent brand AEG. I have found most GBB pistols to be unreliable with seals constantly breaking because of crappy chinese manufacturing. I have had a few Echo rifles that suited me fine.

On a whim, I bought an all metal electric life size Thompson this past Halloween to go with my costume. After shooting up the Jackolanterns the following day, I am now at a loss with what to do with it... I still prefer paintball better. Thinking of selling it but somehow feel more attached to it then what I think I can sell it for.
Maybe ill play with it more this spring. In b4: Thats what she said. |

Thats another reason I like the G36. It is cheap. A comparably priced M4 is a POS but the G36 are quality. At least for my needs. I don't want to drop a truckload on something I'll never use. Also the reason for gbb over aeg, As Magpull would say, gas 'n go. No battery charging. |

My friend has an electric g36, I am unsure of the brand but it is pretty sweet. When we played I would go up against him with my co2 pistol and a shotgun that has an auto trigger in it, but he can just fire so many bb's it's ridiculous.
