98 Custom C02 issues

   Hello there! Just a warning, I'm a total noob at all of this, just really starting to get into paintball. Or attempting to get into it, at least. 

I bought a used 98 Custom for pretty cheap off of a buddy of mine, but I'm having some problems with it. I've changed the o-ring on the C02 tank before I did anything else, figuring that might have been the problem. When I load up the tank on the gun, it's like I have to wait a few minutes for the C02 to fill INTO the gun - I can shoot five or six paintballs max before it starts getting wimpy, and by the 12th consecutive shot or so, it's barely going four feet ahead of me, and I have to wait another two minutes or so before I can fire with full power again. Just wondering if anybody has had this issue as well or if anyone can help me out here?
