Anybody up for a bracket challenge?

I know I've proposed these things before and I usually get busy and such, but this time everything starts during Spring Break, so I've got the free time.

Would you all prefer to use ESPN or CBS? I don't think Facebook does it anymore, it goes through CBS now.

I'd be willing to sponsor a prize to the winner.

Once I know which service you all would prefer using I can set up the player pool and then, by Monday we all should be able to make our brackets.

Oh, and this can serve as the discussion thread for the tournament as well.

I'm in.  My vote is for ESPN, but I really don't care one way or the other.

I was genuinely going to put in some research this year and try to put in an educated attempt at a bracket.
But I didn't. so if I go on, I'll end up coin-flipping and cheapening the entire process.

There's no point in doing anything more than -maybe- 20 minutes of research for any given bracket.

I glance at ranking, RPI, win-loss record and in-conference record. That's about it.

Anything else is excessive unless you've taken the time to watch the entire season. Which I don't do.

I'll say off the bat I have no faith in Notre Dame not to megachoke. Then again I felt the same way about Duke last year and look where that got me.

The Tippmann group is now made.

It's a private but unlocked group, so feel free to use your other brackets, just no switching after Friday.

The group is "Tippmann Forum."

The password is "battlebeans."

Everyone who would like an invite, please post your e-mail or send me a PM with it. Otherwise I think you can just search for it.

Mods, would it be possible for me to get this stickied?

Thanks!

Duke is going to win it.  That's all that matters.

Quite frankly I'm too irate about Alabama not getting an invite to put together a cohesive bracket at the moment. Well, not that it isn't a crapshoot anyway.

I cannot believe that Colorado, and to a lesser extent Bama, didn't get in, while UAB did.

Mine is all set.  Lots of school and conference loyalty, we'll see where it gets.

HEY GUYZ I WON! AND MY SCHOOL WON! LOL.  I feel I can say that now since the chaos of the last two days has is on its way out...

Being on campus for this win has easily been one of the best experiences of my life.  The best way to describe it is surreal, as cliche as it is.  From the chaotic partying and riots Monday night / Tuesday morning, to the more organized pep rally / homecoming formalities of yesterday afternoon, its really all just been amazing.

The last seconds of the game and the chaos started.  Much of the campus was at Gampel Pavilion (one of our home gyms for those that don't know) to watch the game, but the rest of us still in the dorms started running for the middle of campus - to see most of the students packed in the area outside of our Union going crazy was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.  I stayed away from the actual hardcore rioting - police presence was pretty high, and a lot of kids really got screwed in the 2004 riots.  I did wake up in the morning to notice that the 12' lightpoles in the central area outside my dorms were all pulled down.

The rally on Tuesday was very cool.  We filled over 3/4's of Gampel to welcome the team home.  Kemba's number was already put up on the wall with the likes of other Huskies such as Ben Gordon, Emeka Okafor, Ray Allen, Rudy Gay, Coron Butler, and others.  He broke down immediately - it usually takes a period of about 5 years for someone to get put up on that wall.  Calhoun and Walker both addressed the fans - the mood was nothing short of euphoric.

Its kinda crazy to see the chaos of that come and go in a matter of about 36 hours.  Today it seems like everything is back to normal - the only thing left is the team's parade through Hartford.  Really just an amazing experience, and its truly a downer to see its all over.

Hopefully Kemba stays one more season Wink

That was the worst bracket I've ever done not trying to do a golf bracket.

Congrats on the win though, Yomillio. Sounds like a blast.
