Fun day, Troop my boy came out to learn how to ride a MX bike, I recently got the KDX200 tuned and rebuilt and it is a screamer. Troop being from the 'I know' generation eased out on our back yard track and took 2 easy paced laps, and stated he 'could handle it'. OK (with a grin) I stated go with what you are comfortable with. He proceded to take the first few turns and then got cocky. Rolled into a sweeper, went high and outside, and rolled on the power. Since he is new at this (and a self proclaimed knoledgable rider)he did not want the lesson on shifting weight foward and to the outside peg, so when he rolled the power on, rear wheel caught traction, front end lifted, his weight shifted further back, bike shot out from under him, went straight up, and as he rolled on the ground bike came down and nailed him across his legs. I believe 'Lesson Learned' is in order.
Of all the days not to have my helmet cam on. |
