14 inch barrel, J&J or Lapco are the more popular. |

Semper, I'm going to let you in on a little something. You do not want to be a "sniper". It is possibly the most boring role-play ever in such a fun fast paced sport. Sitting in one spot waiting for people to walk by will only waste your day of play. I know the idea of marking people a hundred yards away and having them never see you seems cool, but its never going to happen. There are only a few barrels that will shoot farther than other barrels, and most of the time the paintball won't break so its extremely ineffective.
Take my advice, just run around and have fun. Rambo it out in the field, pick up the eliminations, and look BA doing it. |

I figured that. I was trying to determine which category of potential paintball "sniper" he fell into before answering. PB Sniper Categories:

No true being a sniper to me is the most thrilling and exciting part! Sitting there laying on the ground waiting for that moment when someone walks into your sights! The thrill of being able to see them and look at them with out them even knowing your presence. You control whether the stay in or get out. They dont even know that they have the crosshairs lining up on there chest and then when that moment comes when you take the shot! Its one of the greatest feelings you can ever have because your hidden and they have no idea what just happened.

Friend of mine gets all jazzed up about sitting in the woods in the cold for hours on end waiting for a turkey to come close enough to shoot it. The gleam in his eye is almost haunting when he talks about it. I can't understand how he can find that exciting, he doesn't get why I don't.
Sounds incredibly boring to me, but hey to each his own.

Yah usually you want to stay away from things marker "sniper" also if you really want to pursue your role as a "sniper" i would get a Apex barrel tip because you can adjust the distance. Although its very good for trick shots like shooting around cover it can best be described as a flatline barrel on steroids and is one third the price.

Its not that i think stuipidity should be punishable by death, i just think we should take the warning labels off of things and let the problem handle itself.

^^^ Flatlines can be picked up for slightly less than twice the price of an Apex. Some people prefer the Flatline and others prefer the Apex, it really is a personal preference thing.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages but for me it comes down to two things:
With all that said, I recommend that either the Flatline or Apex be someone's secondary barrel and that their primary one be a good, reasonably priced, straight barrel like the J&J or Lapco Bigshot. Stocks are not a must for playing paintball. When you get one, you often find that you then need to get a raised sight rail if you wish to use some kind of sighting system. Many people use the tanks as stocks and have no problems. ttocke |

i see what your saying with the apex and flatline, The flatline cannot just be unsrewed and cleaned like a normal barrel. the apex being just a tip can be unscrewed and put right back on. as for the adjustments its easy to tell if it is set back to normal you just have to know the settings which is extremely easy. forward is flatline and back is nothing. in between is just a different range. the flatline (or atleast mine) is amazingly inaccurate and breaks balls much more than a normal barrel.(everyone should know that). I prefer the Apex just because its quite a lot better IMHO.
As for stocks i know the tank is often used as a stock but that puts the gun way above your head. Of course you can still see but i love my stock and i would much rather use that than my tank.
Just remember, if your going to be a sniper TAKE CARE OF YOUR THINGS! And Mack can you explain this rear the feaper thing that i have seen 1000 times
