Have played paint ball when i was in highschool and college and even for a bit while i was working. But after a bit a house many cars and picking up the motorcycle hobbie in a BIG way i just could not justify spending the money on paintballing so i sold off alot of my higher end gear and figured id hold on to my RELICS for keepsakes and maybe the odd game for work functions witch never seem to pan out.
But lately i been working towards getting healthier. couple years back i started cycling again and that plus changing how i think of eating has gotten me from my high of 6' 320lbs down to my current 260lbs. Also lately i have gotten myself to a much better place finachially no debts other than my house. So i started thinking of giving paintball a go again then my younger sister decided she would like to try it as shes a big fan of Call of duty games and such and figured she too could use some more activity in her life. so dusted off the old Automag and the Procarbine. threw some lube and a bit of love at them and off i we went to the feild today. Damn forgot how much fun this was got lit up pretty good for a bit but had a blast none the less slowly got the hang of things and started doing pretty good even pulled off some decent front man style slides on the odd fastball game LOL. Even more surprising my Kid sister seemed a natural (welt on my neck to prove it LOL). Says she had a blast and really wants to hit up the big game next weekend and i really looking forward to it myself. So any of you guys make a return. If so what spawned your return what made ya leave? |

I'm heading the opposite direction. I'm thinning the heard, down to just one gun. I've already sold two, and I've got 11 more for sale, while I'm holding on to one, and my friend left his at my place. Before this started, I apparently had 15 guns, plus the gear to keep them running, and a multitude of projects...

I never quit. I missed 2-3 months here or there having two kids and burying my father in law. I have had to cut back on my travel games from 6 to 2 a year, and generally only get out to the field to play walk-on once a month where I used to get two Sundays a month, easy.
Its a great hobby. Dad still plays, and I will at least as long as he does. If my kids are playing by then, I hope I'm still playing when their kids start. |

I was in the club in college, but interest died fast despite my push to go to outings and events.
I've got no group to go with on a regular basis. Now that I've got students that want to work hard, I'm at work 12 hours a day, 6 to 7 days a week. I can just barely afford to play again, but I need to be smart with my money. Since January, my job's pay earned me a $200 deficit after I repay just my loans and rent. Fun and food money is provided by my dad. The military seems just around the corner. I need to hold out until then. I would make enough extra then to pursue my hobbies and fund my relationship. Until then, I'll only be going on rare occasions, and I refuse to go again until I get some paintball pants to protect my most vital of vitals. In perhaps a year, if the military doesn't eat up every single weekend, I could get into it regularly. Edited by Tolgak - 29 May 2011 at 8:45pm |

im actually thinking of getting back in. after i screwed my back up it was so much of a chore to get out and play and then be in pain for the next 2 weeks. well now ive been better for a long time and my wife and i are in a good place financially so i can go somewhere near every weekend. so im gonna hit a walk on with a rental here in a weekend or two and see if that adrenaline starts pumping again.
Also whats a decent marker these days? when i left i had an impulse with a cricket board and eyes, also had a cocker as a back up. do they even sell cockers anymore? whats a good mid level gun if i decide to get back on a more regular basis? Edited by nickman98 - 29 May 2011 at 10:26pm |

I never played that much. We played here and there, all woodsball to a large extent, but my friends just dwindled away to college, marriage, jail, so on and so forth, I got in a serious relationship, and then we all just made a bunch of life changing decisions that didn't really allow time or money for paintball. That said, you're never too old to play (within reason I guess), and I'd love to get back in to it. Maybe in between semesters some day (when I have a reliable job) I'll get some time in.

If you're buying new, and want something similar to an impulse, buy a Planet Eclipse Etek. Its the workhorse midlevel stacked tube poppit valve gun right now. If you aren't stuck on tall guns, the empire Axe seems to be popular. Used, the sky is the limit. You can get 09 or earlier ego's (planet eclipse's high end stcked tube gun) for $500 or less all day. For that price you can also get a fully upgraded 5th generation intimidator (current is 6th gen). No new cockers are out there. All used stuff. Shockteck put out a mech cocker in 09, that was the last production run anyone has done that I know of. Cockers are dirt cheap though. You can pick a stock 04-05 hinged framed cocker up for around $100. |

Never quit since I started playing in '86* but am thinking about it now.
*Took a few long breaks but they were related to lack of places to play or a lack of opponents. |

Well I'm planning to get back into the game. I've been checking ebay for a decent used marker and settled for an Alpha Black.. Trying to lose weight and be more active but my one issue is I have MS so I won't be able to run around a field. I've decided to stick with woodsball and recball . That way I can do less running around.

My boss paid for a private paintball party with most of the people I work with. It was a lot of fun to play again. I need to play with people my level though. The place around here that does night ball to escape the Texas summer sun hasn't done nightball in 2 years and that was about when I last played. College and my car drain my money. It still is fun. I need to get my tank hydroed. But the Ion shoots amazing as always. I have an 06 Evil Minion with tadao board but I honestly don't think I have ever played with it. Maybe once. That's because I have a barrel kit for the ion. I don't care what people say, but the Ion is a damn good gun.

Still playing. I met two guys at the Cousins Big Game that become my new heroes, 62 and 64 years old and out there kicking some ass. The 62 year old goes mountain biking every other weekend and the 64 year old surfs.

Late to the dance, but still play a few times a year. My brother and I don't seem to get jazzed about rec ball much anymore, so we mainly just play larger games/scenarios. We'll probably make it out 8-10 times this year.

Also, just met about 10-15 people at my college who play, so we are bout to start up strong again. So far, im pretty active with it after about 3 years if being idle. |

I left the game about 8 years ago..Ive played maybe 3 times here and there but now all of a sudden I want to get back into it, but not just for fun, I want to compete. What got me back into it was seeing how all the guns that I drooled over when I was 12 were now $100. I actually just got an Autococker trilogy that works like a dream for $50. My last gun was an old spyder classic so it rocked my world. Right now I'm pricing paint, looking for people to play with, and looking for tournaments which is coming around quite well so I'll be back in the game before you know it.
