Not my pic, but same car/rims/paint.

This this is near fully loaded, except FWD. SYNC, the "vista roof" seen on commercials, all the bells and whistles. The have two things to say:

SYNC is too distracting for the average incompotent driver, and

rearview cameras are going to lead to the demise of driving skills in future generations.

It is my moms car, but it is a fun car to drive. The two sunroof thing is awesome, "ambient lighting" is cool beans, the calling features are convienient but like most crossover SUV-ish things today, I can't accually "feel" the road. I feel like I am driving a giant bubble down the street. It handles nice, but I cant really tell where all of the corners of the car are when I am driving. Maybe its a combonation of the gigonzo dashboard and the fact that there isnt a single line in the whole car. My best description of it is I feel like a small person in a giant vehicle. My daily driver is a small F150(which is a little bit larger than this), but I feel less likely to clip other cars because it is a brick and I can see all four corners easily.

Tl:dr=fun car but these crossovers are going to scare the crap out of me in 15 years when most kids grew up with them.

Pretty much the same thing I feel about driving my parent's crossover.  I don't care for it what-so-ever.

I'll stick to my cars for as long as gas prices are high (forever now) and I don't have to carry any form of significant cargo on a regular basis.

Just got a new Ford as well.  Haven't messed around with the SYNC very much but I do love that I can play my music on my phone and control it with the buttons on the steering wheel.

Rear view camera for me comes up on my rear view mirror and I haven't decided if I like it or of its too distracting because I find myself just watching that.

If by ambient lighting you mean the cup holder and floor lights that have 6 or 7 different color options, then yeah...that's pretty cool.

Yomillio-I like the car, but I am not 100% sure I would want to drive it through say... Manhattan, or let a 16 year old girl drive it (even if the car was old and beat up already).

pntbl-The steering wheel controls are awesome, but its tedious/dangerous/annoying to pick one song from a list to play. It takes sync forever to load my ipod library and I cant really play with the list as quickly as I could using just the ipod. The rearview camera is displayed on the center nav screen, and its handy so you can inch up on whatever you are backing up towards. However, I can see people relying on them and never accually looking back when backing up. Objects 2-3 feet away look about 7 feet away until they are about a foot from your bumper.

I have an Equinox crossover with the rear facing camera that comes up on the rearview mirror.  It gives me a better angle of view that I wouldn't have just by going by the mirrors or looking directly through the rear window.  I've already avoided a bike and a couple of skateboards I would not have otherwise seen.

I have a networking package in my car which works rather nicely with my Droid and audio controls for my iPod.  The LCD screen on the dash is blue monochrome and not that distracting.  I have no experience with Ford's SYNC features, but from what I've seen it looks really cool.
