So after spending a full day and a half telling salesmen that I am looking for a small, 4x4 truck with fewer than 60,000 miles and under $15k only for them to tell me that those don't exist and I should just buy their full sized truck with 150,000 miles, I found one.  Got a fair deal on this 05 Colorado 4x4 with the 3.5l I5 and 48,000 miles on the clock.  The radio was a little weak so I stopped off and had some work done on the way home.

I didn't just throw in a sub and call it done.  Also replaced the head, front 6.5s, and tweeters as well.  Sounds better than any car stereo I've ever owned.

Saw the sub and thought, "Really?" Glad you did more than that. Too bad it's not in a stealth box or in a way that you could still put storage on top.

I need to get some kind of cage or cover to put over it to protect the speaker.  I was originally going to get something small like a shallow 8" and try to fit it under the seat, but there were only 3.5 inches to work with.  In my personal life I get by with 3.5 just fine, but for this it was just too little and the seat had to come out.  Since I was doing that anyway, I just went up to the 10.  I chose to have it facing up so I could still keep things on the floor in front of it.

Well, there is a tow truck on the way tomorrow morning to come pick her up.  I was driving home this afternoon from a day at the range with my dad and my brother.  I started hearing a rattle from the front left over some bumps.  then it started getting worse.  about 20 feet short of the driveway, it hit the critical point, pulled to the left and the wheel locked up in the middle of the road.  Upon inspection in the middle of the road (I was going wide to make the right turn), I found the issue.  The damn caliper had detached and become jammed on the rim.  We took the wheel off and found one of the bolts still sitting in the rim, and the other was nowhere to be found.  Got it back into limping condition and crawled it up to the garage. Took the wheel back off and looked more closely.  Almost everything down there was brand new, rotor, hub, ABS sensor, etc.  I called the dealer up and told them the story.  The guy said he would talk to his service guy and get back to me.  about 30 minutes later he called back apologizing.  When they got the truck, the ABS light was on.  Part of fixing it was installing those new parts.  Apparently one of their mechanics was absent on torque wrench day and likely failed to tighten them.  The dealer was nice enough about it though.  They are going to pick me and the truck up first thing, get me a rental and start working.  It's going to need a new caliper for sure.

My friend had that same truck. For some reason it wouldn't start on rainy days.
Face it guys, common sense is a form of wealth and we're surrounded by poverty.-Strato

It's a Colorado, the only precipitation it knows of is snow.

I'll show myself out now.

My dad had a similar problem. Thing is, he knew better.

Driving home at night he heard a grinding noise start up in the front end. Kept driving. Got home, and went to back in. Truck seemed to get stuck, so he put it in four low and gunned it. The caliper went THROUGH the alloy rim.

Like I said, he knew better which disappoints me.
