I know what your thinking, "this kid thinks that he wil make a paintball rifle", but that's not what I'm saying. I want to know if there actually is a rifled paintball gun because someone told me about one that instead of having a circle mark on the target you have a spiral one. Is this true?

There are rifled barrels out there. And actually I own one. Im not sure what you mean by having a spiral mark instead of a circle one. All the barrel does is put spin on the ball in an attempt to increase accuracy. As far as Im concerned the barrel works great. Until you get paint or dirt in it.... I have a 13 inch Armson stealth by the way.

It doesn't really make a difference in accuracy or the marking it makes. If paintballs were more solid it would. Or if your gun ran at very very low pressure it would. My gun runs at 200, and after the intial blow to the ball (which isn't much) I think it has time to reshape, But accuracy is pretty much "you get what you get"

look, rifling works for a bullet, but not a paintball. You put spin on a football so it goes farther, (football= bullet) and you put spin on a baseball when you want it to curve (baseball= paintball) so really, its not doing anything.

Empire Twister barrell.... the paint mark wont spiral though because there is more forward momentum than than momentum from the spin... basic physics

Dude, no, a paintball is not a baseball it's an egg. Each one has a bludge on one side of it that makes it egg shaped.

wow... it was a whole thread about rifling and you bring in the flatline. The flatline spins the ball in a completely different direction than rifling would. All the flatline does is pop the ball up as it leaves the barrel to ark it a little better flatline>rifled barrel no doubt. But if you really think you need a rifled barrel there is a brand called like hammerhead that I have heard nothing but good results from.

maybe if you are using paint that costs $30 a case but if you are using good paint then no, just no, take a look at a fresh case of marbs some time |

I'll tell you what, why don't you quit staring at your fresh case of marbs and try looking at a physics book so that you'll understand exactly WHY paintballs aren't spherical but rather elliptical in shape Every single paintball is at least slightly out-of-round and thus while the properties that affect spherical objects do somewhat affect paintballs, they don't follow the physical laws to a T. |
