I am looking for a place where i can get a truck in iowa that i can fix up for under 1000 dollars. im not looking to buy it from you guys so dont even say here buy my truck. i've looked at auto trader.com and they have some. i am about 14 and i want a chevy truck. i have a big block to put in it. that thing rips. it's like 6.something liter. but i dont want an S-10. i want something that can hold a V-8. thanks guys. i would like it to be under 1000 dollars remember. i also want it to be in pretty bad shape so i can work on it and make it look good cheap. thanks. PS-Remember im not looking to buy one from you guys. i want a place where i can find one. Edited by Smitty |

To answer your question, try the "nickel ads" or the classifieds in the news papers. |

2 years??? Thats a long time, spend money for another year on paintball things and such, then worry bout it. I remember when I was 14 thinking about this. I thought I had to have a nice truck or car. No im 16 and I have a 94 GMC Sierra with a V8. Trust me, once you buy gas for that big block you'll be begging for a geo metro. |

then just get a cheap truck that isnt lifted and has no dents and drop in the big block and roll. later on you could paint it lift it put on some big tires and nice wheels. check the news papers for cheap trucks. did you say you had a 407? |

I have seen some badass S-10 street trucks. My cousin has 4 of them and they all have V-8's. I would reccomend an 80-early 90's model if you want cheap. They have a more blocky body. Put a hood scoop and some street tires and rims on it and the V-8. Maybe some racing stripes if you get the money. If you dont want that I would get an old Z71 and make it as big as possible.

How many of these do you see. I got two S-10 around the corner from me and I seen more than that. These Chevy trucks are made for big block Chevy's and allot easier to work on. You can lower it raise it what ever you would like to do. They have a full solid frame.

if you got it out of a corvette then it is probaly a LT series. if it is a 407 then it probaly started out as a 350 smallblock and was bored, balanced and blueprinted out to be a 407. my neighbor has a chevy nova witha 407 running on high octane jet fuel. it huals ass. the fastest he went with me in it was 140 mph but he has got it goind alot faster. are you gonna go for a street ride or a mud runner like i got? i think that you should look for a late 70's chevy halfton shortbed. then you should lift it and put 35" boggers on it. my truck is a 78 ford f-150 with a 400M big bock, a 12'' lift, 39.5" X 18" boggers on 16.5" weld scorpios. it is blue. i use that as my mud runner.
