Alright, I'm posting this in several boards cause I'm really interested in this and would like to know what the wise have to say.
It's simple, a paintball rifle that resembles a real life bolt-action, with the cocking lever and everything else. Has anything like this ever been done? Anyone tried doing it, but failed? Any info in this is greatly appreciated, as I myself have some plans in my head I'd like to compare to what has been tried already.

well, it'd be just like playing with a pump... and people play with phantoms in the woods all the time (maybe not all the time, but it's doable)

If there's such a thing, I'm talking about something maybe in the stock of a M40, 1903, something like that, exacty replica of the real thing.

That idea is about as old as this forum.

Basically you want a pump action gun that only loads one paintball at a time.  It has no advantage to a pump gun.

Were, that's a military/law enforcement training tool called 'Simunitions'. It's HIGHLY illegal at paintball fields, and any weapon firing them is a legal firearm. I've fired them out of my service rifle. They work the same way a real bullet does, except that the projectile is a thin plastic shell with dye in the tip. It comes in many different calibres, and can be fired from most service weapons with only a few modifications. Belt linked rounds are even available to fire from machineguns.

I guarantee that you will never find a paintball field where you can use these. Theya re REAL weapons cartridges, fired from REAL weapons, and can be lethal without proper protective equipment. A soldier was killed training with these things when one blew clean through his neck because he didn't wear the neck protector.

The closest you'll get to this legally is the RAP series of paintball markers, the RAP-4, RAP-5, and RAP-17. They simulate the M4, MP5, and Glock 17 respectively. NEat pieces of gear, and very realistic. They market themselves to military and LEO training as well, but are legal in many paintball fields. They use a custom calibre of ammunition though, .43, so it can't be a field that makes you buy your paint there. http://www.realactionpaintball.com/ They fire from magazines, and the air sources are hidden inside the amrker, so they appear stunningly realistic- no hopper, no (visible) tank, no remote line. They even have the paintballs enclosed in small cylindrical plastic or brass shells, which eject when fired for ultimate realism. It's definitely a niche marker, but would be a hell of a cool toy.

I know there dangerus but ther are 2 reasons why i would never miss if I used that, number one is that they shoot like a real bullet so you have a lot of accuracey, second i probley would not have the money to buy them so I would not be able to shoot cuz I would have no ammo.

Er, this isnt civilian grade stuff, I could be wrong but I hughly doubt you can walk down to wal-mart and buy that stuff.

And how the hell does this have anything to do with a bolt-action paintball gun?

Well, Darur, in a way you could fire these out fo any bolt action rifle chambered for the right sized cartridge. They have them in 5.56 or 7.62. Now, take a 5.56 for instance- to shoot it from an M16 you need a new bolt, because the real one weighs too much and has too strong a buffer spring for the small charge in this round to cycle the semiautomatic action. But in a bolt action, that wouldn't be an issue, so you could actually fire a 'paint' round out of a bolt action weapon. Though obviously, this wouldn't happed in a real paintball game, and from eprsonal experience those rounds are useless beyond 20 yards anyway... It's pushing the bounds of being relevant, but it was an interesting side topic...

Oh, hell, you know- I just thought of a way that a bolt action paintball gun could be doable. It would really only take some modification of a pump gun. Say a Phantom, or even a Brass Eagle Talon. It would have to be a custom body of course, but the actual mechanism would be easy to build onto the existing parts with a Dremel, a bit of hardware, and enough spare time... The only real difficult bit would be the body.

If yer a "real gunsmith" then you can have those simmunitions, but to use them on a regulated paintball field...good luck in tryin to explain to the local law enforcement on how you got those and them pending civil law suits from the parents cus you used them rounds on their kids.

ok everyone there is a viable reson to have a bolt action rifle.  well there was (in the olden days when all you were no more then knee high to a grasshopper) a thing that could be bought and they were geletin fins.  they were there to give more stability to your shots but needed to be mussel loaded.  now with a larger breach and bolt action these could be loaded faster.  just food for thought

www.howstuffworks.com

Go there and search for paintball. There is an animation of a pump gun (the innards). Ok, now a bolt action uses a twisting action would would be hard to work out if the bolt has to twist, go back and get the hammer, twist back, fire. The hammer would stay in the same position as when fired. Unless you make a groove so that the hammer twists after firing, which you would lose efficiency.

Its really just not worth it, your best bet is to get a pump and make it look bolt action.

My first time playing paintball i came across a guy with a marker resembling an ugly representation of a ww2 rifle. the only problem (for you) was it was semi auto, and used 12 gram co2.

Tippmann Rocks, mabye they will make one. (highly unlikely, though.)
Amother alrernitaive,(i hate to say) is airsoft. They do make paintballs for airsoft. Try the Super 9 pro. mabye your field will let you use it if it shoots under 300fps.
