Topic: Doubts about the A-5Posted: 06 March 2005 at 5:43pm |

If there were any doubts about my new A-5 that i purchased about 3 weeks ago. they were wiped away yesterday when I, for the first time in my life, went and played some paintball. I am a noob when it comes to this thing and to play my first game with my stock A-5 with my 48 ci tank. IT WAS AMAZING. I never got out once. no balls chopped out of 2000 rounds. and i had 15 kills. we were playin in the woods and we set the rules as if ur gun gets hit ur still able to play but if u get hit 3 times ur out. there were only about 6 of us. so i only took about 4 hits. and me and my freind wiped em out. he uses a old tippmann 68 custom. IT WAS FREAKIN COOL. Now im looking for hopups and upgrades. The first thing that I want is a new barrell. i noticed that over about 90 feet my shots were going all over. so im bidding on ebay right now for a new flatline and a boomstick. they said that each time i shot they were looking for someone with a freaking had cannon.

The A-5 is truely the king of the woods. I'm glad you've found what others have been missing.

^^^exactly I'm glad you are happy with your tippy, they are amazingly reliable. Long after a high end marker breaks down, a tippy will keep going. Welcome to the forum and welcome to paintball. |

u really should not play with any other elimination rules than the
standard, your hit, your out. U said u didn't get out all day,
but in any field, assuming u will eventually play at 1, u would have
been out 4 times, cause that's how many times u said u were hit.
I'm glad u had a good time, just don't cling to those rules, cause u
will find things a lot more difficult if u ever play at a field.
Welcome to the Forums and have fun.

While I have a number of MilSim markers I fired an A-5 with RT for the first time yesterday and I have to say VERY nice marker. Fired smooth, fast, and without problems...even though we were using questionable paint. Most impressive indeed. I still REALLY like my MilSim markers...but I may be picking up a couple of A-5 RTs for a couple walking tanks (PUGs) that I'm building. The ROF with Tippmann's renowned durability will be just the ticket.

Glad you loved it. I love my A-5 too. Had much fun the first time I used it. Hope your quest for a flatline goes well. Just remember to buy another barrel if you do get the flatline. Have fun |

A-5 is the undergod of paintball. Tippmann Effect brings the light out. I'm putting together an extremely mean A-5 right now. I'll be outshooting ebladed cockers soon. |

That's how I feel about my A5 as well! I love it. The best thing is how loud it is. Some one posted looking for ways to make it quiet down and I was like, WHY? Loud is cool! I just put my flatty on. It is super easy to install, but you will need to use better paint. I use Diablo Blaze mostly. One of my local fields has gone FPO. It is kind of expensive, as they are forcing us to buy their paint. I miss being able to use what I want all the time... but hey, its their field... if I don't like it I can play elsewhere. You will find the best price for the flatty at 888paintball.com. $99.98 plus S&H. I bought mine at a local shop, because I want to support them. If you are playing mostly with friends, try shooting someones marker that is using the R/T. That will be my next upgrade I think, but it's not allowed in some facilities and not in any tournies. the only reason we played with those rules is because there was only 4 people there. otherwise the games wouldnt last no longer than about 5 mins. thats boring. I just won a auction on ebay for a new flatline and cant wait to get it in. the other 2 were workin on their spidy's Edited by DemonSlayer |

The A-5 is indeed a very good gun. If you want to outshoot high-end markers, a new barrel, an E-grip, and a JCS Duel trigger will get you there. BTW- the only problem with the hand cannon effect is everyone dives for cover the instant they hear it (sound travels faster than the paintball). |

sound may travel faster than the round but human reaction time is anwhere from 1.2 seconds down to 0.5 (perfect) seconds.

Welcome to the game- glad you enjoyed yourself. Tippys are bloody
reliable. Treat them properly, and they'll work beautifully. Treat them
like crap and abuse them, and they'll still work well (unless you
actually break part of the marker, which you should't really be able to
do without opening it up). You'll love your flatline. A suggestion,
though- you seem to have a relatively open budget for paintball gear,
so I'd suggest a Palmer's Stabilizer regulator for your CO2. It'll make
the flatline a lot more consistent, and will help you avoid CO2 spikes.

a-5's are awsome I have a e-grip , jcs duel trigger, low pressure kit, palmer stabalizer, 72ci/3ooo tank, 14" empire twister barrel, and a flatline. the flat line is a good upgrade for woods play . I was playing the other day and my opponents balls were dropping about 5 feet in front of me and I was able to hit them with the flatline. it is cool to have some advantage. the only problem with a lot of upgrades is it gets heavy, but it can keep up with my friends high end marker.
